The Return of Nelly Goosey

It has happened AGAIN!!!!! Chanel has another big fat goose egg. This time, it's right next to her eye. Awesome. I'm doing dishes last night, and I hear a "BAM!", which turns out to be the sound of Chanel's head hitting the coffee table after her jubilant leap over the ottoman. Jonathan was right there, so he grabbed her to check out the damage. "Holy crap! It's really bad!", says the not-so-calm EMT-Intermediate Firefighter. I grabbed ice, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen asap, and we just cuddled her. Jonathan let her watch Dora (he had to change the channel from one of his classic TV shows, like "Scariest Police Shootouts" or "The World's Dumbest Criminals"). She got to have a warmed-up chockies (chocolate milk in a sippy cup). I went upstairs to be with Briggs, and Daddy and Nelly had some bonding time watching Dora.

She only cried for a few minutes, but I think her parents were a little traumatized. I mean, COME ON!!! This little crazy girl is going to get us a few more stares from the stranger at the grocery store, I'm sure! These pictures were taken this morning. You can't tell that the bruising continues across her eyelid. So sad!

Heather, you don't know me, I'm just another one of Jonathan's old friends but I was looking at your blog... which is so cute... and saw this post. We have 3 kiddos and my middle child who is 4 keeps cutting her hair. We never catch her in the act just find clumps of her beautiful blond hair in a corner somewhere while cleaning up. So, we warned her that she would be really busted if she did it again... she did it again. I was leaning over her while explaining what would happen. She started to freak and jumped up into my eye socket! It was so bad I could see my own eyebrow! The kicker is that at the time we were living in white trash heaven-southern Illinois so every time we went into Wally World (Wal-Mart) people would give my husband the stink eye! Hah, it's funny now but ooohh that child is lucky she's cute! Congrats on the upcoming "new kid on the block"! Hope you're feeling well.
